Tuning in to a single molecule: Vibrational spectroscopy with atomic resolution
Abstract
It has recently been shown that the scanning tunneling microscope can be used to obtain the vibrational spectrum of a single molecule on a surface. The ability to obtain both spatial and precise energetic information with angstrom-scale resolution should lead to an enhancement in our ability to understand and engineer surfaces at the atomic level. © Elsevier Science Ltd.
