The Das-Peierls electromigration theorem
Abstract
The driving force in electromigration depends on the spatial variations of the transport field in the vicinity of the moving lattice defect. For defects in jellium, simple momentum balance arguments are used to calculate this force in a way which makes allowance for spatial variations.
