Small adsorbate dipole moments need not imply small charge transfers
Abstract
It is pointed out that small, electronegative adatoms like H and O are able to exhibit very small dipole moments even though they may show appreciable charge transfer. This is true because the spatial separations of charge involved can be far less than 1 Å. © 1983.
