Signal-to-noise-ratio limit to the depth-of-field extension for task-specific imaging systems with an arbitrary pupil function
Abstract
The rigorous trade-off between achieving an extended depth-of-field and improved spectral signal-to-noise-ratio for a task-specific imaging system using arbitrary phase and/or amplitude pupil function is presented. © 2009 Optical Society of America.
