Servo signal simulation of an mo disk with embossed pits
Abstract
A two-dimensional scalar diffraction model is used to simulate servo signals in an optical disk with pre-grooves and embossed pits. Two sets of values for the optimum geometry are presented. The effect of the pit size is shown for each of the optimum sets. This paper also describes how the tracking error signal is affected by variances from the optimum values. It recommends that pit shifts from the track center and defocusing effects due to servo signal crosstalk should be avoided so as to achieve fast and reliable access, whether or not embossed pits are included. © 1992 The Japan Society of Applied Physics.
