SEMI AUTOMATIC COMPUTERISED SYSTEM FOR THE PRODUCTION OF QUANTITATIVE MOVING THREE DIMENSIONAL IMAGES OF THE HEART AND CORONARY ARTERIES.
Abstract
Automatic tracking of coronary vessels on an arteriogram is a very difficult image processing problem regardless of quantitation. This paper outlines a system that provides a basis for the quantitative study of bi plane arteriograms, and while it involves large amounts of computing it minimises operator interaction. Further work is obviously necessary especially in validation of the quantitative processes both for the ventricular models and the vessel diameters. This work is in progress. Work is also continuing to improve the accuracy and fallability of the tracking algorithm.
