S33 nuclear magnetic resonance in paramagnetic -MnS
Abstract
The temperature dependence of the S33 nuclear magnetic resonance has been studied in the paramagnetic state of the cubic antiferromagnet -MnS. In the temperature range of 175 to 300°K, a Curie-Weiss temperature of 630°K and a transferred hyperfine coupling constant A33 of +(1.650.04)×10-4 cm-1 are measured. Utilizing the Mn55 nuclear-magnetic-resonance data measured by Jones, the ratio of A33 to A55, the Mn55 hyperfine coupling constant, is determined to be A33A55=-0.02300.0005. A discussion is presented on the effective fraction of valence electrons which contribute to the hyperfine field. © 1968 The American Physical Society.
