Robustness in speech based interfaces: Sharing the tricks of the trade
Abstract
A report on the robustness in speech based interfaces was presented. Robustness in interactive systems comprised two interrelated aspects such as internal and interactional. The workshop focused on the kind of knowledge gained through the experience of developing robust and user-friendly speech-based interfaces. The issues related to speech recognition were discussed as the variability in the accuracy created robustness problems in the dialogue.
