Performance of NAS parallel application-benchmarks on IBM SP1

Abstract

In this paper, we present performance of the three application benchmarks (BT, LU, and SP) from the NAS Parallel Benchmark suite on the IBM Scalable POWERparallel 1 (SP1) system. We present performance results on both Class A and Class B problem sets. We compare the performance of two communication protocols, MPL and MPL/p, and also present results on a cluster of workstations called PPP. We describe the implementation of one of the benchmarks (SP) in some detail.
