Passive "orthogonal flow mixers" for homogeneous dissolution of reagents in microfluidics
Abstract
Homogeneous dissolution of dried reagents in microfluidic devices is challenging because reagents typically accumulate at the front of liquids filling microfluidic structures. This makes the integration and dissolution of reagents for bioassays using microfluidics a very challenging task. Here, we report a new concept, termed orthogonal flow mixing, for the integration and precise release of reagents in passive microfluidic devices.
