Origins of surface induced magnetic structures
Abstract
Surface anisotropy and the surface-bulk exchange interaction may induce surface magnetic structures (SMS). SMS can reduce coercivity and must be taken into account when interpreting surface magnetic measurements. Fe(100) very likely exhibits SMS. In 3 d-4 f alloys, SMS occur naturally and can be characterized with few parameters. © 1988 Springer-Verlag.
