Optoelectronic integrated circuits for high speed computer networks
Abstract
The use of GaAs for the interface electronics and optoelectronics of high-speed fiber-optic networks is reviewed. The performance required of such a network and the demands it places on components are discussed. The use of GaAs MESFET and quantum-well laser technology is discussed.
