Optical properties of two-dimensional systems of randomly distributed particles
Abstract
We have studied the optical properties of a two-dimensional system of small particles. A lattice-gas model is used to simulate nearly randomly distributed particles and the coherent-potential approximation (CPA) is applied to obtain a solution of the disorder problem. The disorder introduces characteristic structure in the absorption spectra which compares favorably with experiments. © 1983 The American Physical Society.
