Measurements of thermo-mechanical properties of thin polymer films
Abstract
TMA analysis has been used to measure Young's moduli of thin films (12.5 mm and thinner) at room temperature and at elevated temperature in nitrogen. The obtained modulus values were compared to values obtained by conventional stress-strain measurements on strip and dog-bone samples. Samples that were investigated include polyaniline, PMDA-ODA polyimides, BCB films, and others.
