Abstract
Traditionally disparate approaches have been used for Business Process Modeling and Business Process Monitoring. The connections are often achieved through IT-level models e.g. state machine models. In this paper we provide a unified model - Managed Business Artifacts - that captures the process modeling and monitoring concerns. We establish the connections through a business-level model. The concepts are illustrated through a simple example of the Job Application process. © 2008 IEEE.
