Visualized monitoring of virtual business process for SOA
Abstract
Business user oritented business process monitoring plays a key role for enterprises to improve business processes' visibility and responsiveness. Usually an end-to-end business process is implemented by heterogenous technologies and their combinations in a SOA enviroment, for instance: Business Process Execution Language (BPEL), J2EE and any other technologies which can leverage Web service as composition interface. This paper introduces a business user oritented virtual business process monitoring model to represent the visualized process view associated with monitoring metrics. A virtual business process monitoring approach is provided to aggregate and correlate process execution status information produced by heterogenous technologies and components of a SOA solution. A real customer case study is presented at the end of the paper to illustrate the effectiveness of this approach. © 2008 IEEE.
