Magnetic susceptibility and magnetostriction of CoO, MnO, and NiO

Abstract

The experimentally observed increase in the magnetic susceptibility and the accompanying change in length of antiferromagnetic MnO and NiO single crystals were used to evaluate critical fields and anisotropy of these materials. For CoO the susceptibility varied over too small a range to be of significance in this work. © 1962 The American Institute of Physics.
