LPE Growth and Composition of Magnetic EuTm‐CaGe Iron Garnet Films
Abstract
The effects of growth temperature on the composition of CaGe‐substituted EuTm2Fe5O12 magnetic garnet films grown by isothermal liquid phase epitaxy are described for PbO‐B2O3‐Fe2O3 fluxed melts with a low CaO: GeO2 ratio of 0.233 and a relatively low PbO:B2O3 ratio of 11. Using increasingly larger quantities of CaO and GeO2 in these melts results in more sensitivity of the film relative magnetization and domain size to the growth temperature.
