Low-loss copper film ion-exchanged optical waveguides with step-like index profiles in glass
Abstract
Copper-film ion-exchange in glass is highly promising for fabricating optical waveguides. Enhanced steepness of the refractive index profile results from applying an electric field also during cooling. Optical waveguides present losses of 0.22dB/cm at 1300nm. © 2005 IEEE.
