INTERCONNECTION OF SNA NETWORKS.

Abstract

The requirement expressed by users is to be able to interconnect independent SNA networks, That is, to allow sessions between Logical Units in different SNA networks, and to do that with the minimum of coordination between the networks and with enhanced network management tools for that more complex environment. The products described provide a gateway between SNA networks. A gateway comprises at least one gateway System Services Control Point (SSCP) implemented in ACF/VTAM running under MVS and one gateway NCP implemented in the Network Control Program (NCP). The basic functions and some of the highlights of the support provided are examined.
