ROLE OF GRAPHICS IN PRESENTING STATISTICS.

Abstract

The graphical representation of statistical data provides useful guidelines for appraising observations. However, most graphing techniques group data into classes which tends to smooth out the diagram. Therefore the statistician should analyse the raw data in the context of the inferences drawn from graphic displays to test the validity of those inferences. Graphics is a tool that helps the statistician to do a more effective job.
