Impact of design-manufacturing interface on SoC design methodologies
Abstract
The semiconductor industry is very complex and includes many players. Today's semiconductor manufacturing trends are increasingly including hardware design techniques, tools and methodologies. This article analyzes these trends and focuses on the design-manufacturing interface that greatly affects chip maker's overall long-term profitability and return of investment (ROI). These effects clearly include impacts on yield optimization, resolution enhancement, testability and cost.
