Abstract

The widespread introduction of CAE systems in the automotive industry has focused attention upon the need to share engineering data. The time and errors which could be saved are substantial. However, together with other assembly industries (shipbuilding, aerospace or computers), automotive companies need to overcome organisational difficulties to maximise the potential benefit.
