HIPAIR: Interactive mechanism analysis and design using configuration spaces
Abstract
The paper presents an interactive problem solving environment for reasoning about shape and motion in mechanism design. The proposed design tool, called HIPAIR, is provided with a module that automates the kinetic analysis of mechanisms composed of linkages and higher pairs. This module allows the efficient computation of tasks, including simulation, behavior description and parametric design.
