HIGH PERFORMANCE PROCESSING IN A HIGH LEVEL LANGUAGE.
Abstract
Historically, APL applications have frequently been examples of ones where performance issues can become critical to their practicality. Recent product improvements, however, have made software like GDDM, SQL, REXX, FORTRAN, and ASSEMBLER accessible from the APL environment. This paper discusses some of the performance issues which arise in such a multi-paradigm environment.
