Handling hyperknowledge representations through an interactive visual approach
Abstract
The hyperknowledge conceptual model was created to provide a better support for integrating knowledge specifications with multimedia content. In this paper, we present KES (Knowledge Explorer System), a system that supports management of hyperknowledge bases (i.e., knowledge bases with hyperknowledge specifications) in a collaborative manner. KES promotes creating knowledge representations as well as validating and curating knowledge through an interactive visual approach. The main advantages of this approach are highlighted in this paper. The system allows both general end users and experts from specific fields working together to enrich specifications within knowledge bases. Moreover, existent web semantic representations are directly translated, making KES suitable for web semantic technologies.
