Error performance of FH-MFSK multiple-access communication system for the factory environments
Abstract
A frequency-hopped m-ary frequency-shift-keyed (FH-MFSK) spread-spectrum communication system was previously introduced. The error performance of the system operating over Rayleigh, Rician, and lognormal multipath fading for factory environments is investigated. The statistics of these channels, obtained from a recent channel model, are used evaluate the performance of the FH-MFSK system. The average bit error rate (BER) is formulated and evaluated numerically using IMSL routines. The number of simultaneous users in terms of number of hopped frequencies, number of MFSK chips, receiver threshold, signal-to-noise ratio and channel statistics at a fixed BER for the channels is determined.
