Enhancement of self-trapping by cooperative phenomena; Application to liquid crystals
Abstract
A model of a rotational transition in a dielectric fluid leads to a nonlinear susceptibility proportional to (T-TK)-1; for some liquid crystals in the isotropic phase above TK the intensity dependent part of the refractive index can be an order of magnitude larger than that of CS2. © 1967.
