Abstract
This paper presents an extension of the theory of Singwi et al. of the electron liquid. The structure factor, the dielectric functions and the effective potential can be determined in a self-consistent manner, and the compressibility inconsistencies of the earlier theory are removed. The implications of these results for calculations of metallic properties are mentioned. © 1971.
