Dynamics of vapor bubbles in binary liquids with spherically symmetric initial conditions
Abstract
A technique is presented for determining the dynamics of vapor bubbles in binary liquids when the temperature and concentration fields are spherically symmetric. This is an extension of an earlier work [L. A. Skinner and S. G. Bankoff, Phys. Fluids 7, 1 (1964)], which employs the constant bubble pressure approximation, applicable when surface tension and inertial effects are negligible. The problem is solved in general form, and a specialized example is treated in detail.
