Developments in FDTD as applied to photonics

Abstract

The capabilities and limitations of the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method for modeling nanophotonic and plasmonic devices are reviewed. Straightforward modifications which can extend these capabilities and finesse limitations are discussed. © 2006 Optical Society of America.
