Coulomb blockade in small quantum dots
Abstract
We have studied Coulomb blockade effects in semiconductor quantum dots connected to leads via adjustable tunnel barriers. The single-particle energy level spacing becomes non-negligible compared with the Coulomb charging energy. The oscillations become irregularly spaced as the dot is made very small. © 1993.
