ANOMALOUS MAGNETORESISTANCE IN SUB-0. 4 mu m NORMAL METAL RINGS.
Abstract
The low temperature magnetoresistance of sub-0. 4 mu m diameter Au and Au//6//0Pd//4//0 rings was measured in search of periodic oscillations which would serve as evidence of magnetic flux quantization in normal metal rings. Instead, however, aperiodic (but reproducible) structure was observed. Similar structure was also observed in short, narrow, Au and Au//6//0Pd//4//0 lines.
