A dynamic lattice dislocation grain boundary sliding mechanism
Abstract
An analysis of grain boundary sliding is made based on the hypothesis that the rate-limiting process involves, overall, the climb-limited movement along grain boundaries of lattice dislocations, which originate in the grain interiors. Reasonable values are calculated for the contribution of grain boundary sliding to the overall strain and for the stress exponent of the boundary sliding rate. © 1985 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
