A displayed image model for evaluating motion picture quality in liquid crystal display
Abstract
Motion picture images are related to device optical response by adopting a statistical distribution model, in which there are linear relationships in the mean and variance of two distributions with the motion velocity as the proportional constant, and the total optical intensity is conserved. This novel theory is applied to evaluate motion picture quality, as optimizing a well-known overdrive scheme. Efficiently optimized overdrive scheme produces improvements comparable to those demonstrated by the blanking method.
