Timothy Donovan (Tim)

Tim is an experienced software engineer, architect, DevOp’s and deployment specialist in IBM’s Research UKI team. Previously he worked as an Innovation specialist within the Emerging Technology team, with a focus on how machine learning applied to natural language processing could be utilised within healthcare.

During his 30 plus years within IBM he has built up expertise within the Healthcare and life sciences arena, performing many projects within this domain. One example is the work done with Versus Arthritis on the implementation of their cognitive virtual assistant, developed to help suffers with arthritis manage their pain.

He is currently working on the HNCDI programme with the Science and Technologies Facilities Council, helping customers develop and implement unique solutions to solve their business problems. The recent completed project for REPROCELL is a great example of the work done within the HNCDI program.

In his spare time, Tim enjoys riding and volunteers at many British Eventing Horse trails, both as an experienced Fence Judge and XCountry Steward. He has had the honour of working at the World Equestrian Games in the USA, Badminton HT, Blenheim HT and many events over the years in the UK.
