Professional experience

Scientist at IBM Research, Zurich Research Laboratory (since April 2001)

Exploratory photonics on nanostructures, optics on nanostructured materials with special emphasis on organic semiconductors and photonic bandgap structures, hybrid organic-inorganic materials for opto-electronic applications, quantum fluids, quantum simulation and Bose Einstein Condensation.

Project leader (associate professor level) at the Max-Planck Institute for Polymer Research, Mainz (August 1999 - March 2001)

Quantum optics in organic microcavities, Giant Rabi splitting in organic microcavities, excitonic processes in organic and hybrid materials.

Post doctoral researcher at CNR, Bologna (July 1996 - Dezember 1996)

Spectroscopic investigations (time resolved and time integrated) on thiophene films sublimed in ultrahigh vacuum.
