I am a Senior Research Scientist at IBM Research – Zurich with expertise in Explainable AI and AI fault diagnosis. My work addresses two distinct types of faults:
An example of this second area is my current work on the Text-to-SQL task, which allows users to interact with complex database systems using natural language queries. In this project, I lead our team’s efforts to automatically detect and correct errors generated by the AI model, enhancing both system accuracy and user experience.
In addition to this technical role, I have also held several other roles at IBM Research, including Leader of our AI Research Partnerships in Europe, Research Manager for AI and Industries, and Research Strategist. The latter position I have also held at IBM’s TJ Watson Research Center, New York, USA where I evaluated, recommended, and shaped topics and recommendations that define IBM’s strategic directions.
My PhD I received from the Australian National University where I worked on the automated fault diagnosis of large-scale discrete-event systems like telecommunication or power supply networks.
