Van Vleck paramagnetism in the diluted magnetic semiconductor Cd1-xFexSe; A photoluminescence study
Abstract
We present a photoluminescence study of Cd1-xFexSe, a new diluted magnetic semiconductor (DMS). The luminescence spectrum was recorded as a function of temperature and applied magnetic field, revealing behaviour which was significantly different from that observed in manganese based DMS. We conclude that Cd1-xFexSe exhibits Van Vleck paramagnetism instead of the more usual Larmor paramagnetism. © 1987.
