Workshop
Using Alternative Data to Support Intelligent Decisions for Financial Service
Abstract
The availability of rich time-varying financial data in various forms (text, weather, media, graphs, etc), modalities and temporal resolutions presents daunting challenges for knowledge discovery and building effective prediction models to support intelligent decisions for financial service, such as investment and wealth management, credit profiling and loan issuance, crime detection and anti-money laundering. This workshop serves as a focal point for researchers and practitioners to present the latest progress, exchange ideas and discover possible synergies for leveraging massive data from multiple heterogeneous sources to enable reliable insight mining and predictive modeling. To strengthen the principle research interests of the data mining community in finance and bring the attention of researchers to real problems in finance, we propose to organize this workshop in conjunction with SDM 2020.
