Transport of electrons in a strong built-in electric field
Abstract
The problem is discussed of the transport of electrons in the presence of a strong field due to fixed space charges, as in the depletion region of a p-n junction. It is found that the effective mobility, for small departures from equilibrium, is equal to the chordal hot-electron mobility which would result if the strong field were applied by external means. © 1968 The American Institute of Physics.
