Time evolution of lubricant-slider dynamic interactions
Abstract
Slider dynamics changes due to lube-slider interactions were reported. Lubricant moguls and ripples were observed and they changed in amplitude and frequency, following the slider dynamics. The two effects appear to build on each other. The formation of moguls and ripples increased the topography of the lubricant in the micro-waviness range, causing the slider fly height modulation (FHM) to increase.
