Conference paper
Thin film inductive heads. From one to thirty one turns
Abstract
This paper reviews the conditions in the late 1960's, which prompted investigators to consider batch processed thin film heads for the future in magnetic recording. It also analyzes the then available technology to fabricate such heads, what was known, and what had to be invented and developed on the way from fabricating the first single turn heads to the first modern multiturn heads.
