Thermally stable polymers for application in integrated optics
Abstract
Three types of thermal stability are required for an electrooptic polymer. Two of them affect the thermal stability of the chromophore concentration. The third is orientational stability. A further challenge in this area is to incorporate chromophores into high-temperature polymers. To this effect, electro-optic polyimides have been prepared. The general approach is described.
