Temperature dependence of BE and BMEC photoluminescence of Si(Li) in an applied magnetic field
Abstract
Zeeman spectra of the Li1 to Li4 photoluminescence lines of Si(Li) associated with bound exciton (BE) and bound multiexciton complex (BMEC) recombination processes have been measured as a function of temperature in the range 1.5 to 4.2 K. As expected, the observed Si(Li) spectra differ substantially from the Zeeman spectra of BE and BMEC luminescence associated with Si(P), due to the different valley-orbit state ordering of these two systems. The overall observed thermalization behaviour, and specifically, the disappearance of the Li1 line at the lowest temperatures is in excellent agreement with predictions of the shell model. © 1980.
