Abstract

Electrophotographic (EP) printing commands a leadership position among nonimpact line printer technologies. The speed, resolution, and print quality capability of this technology continues to offset inherent complexity and reliability concerns. The author reviews the EP printing process and highlights recent areas of research and development that may ensure a continued strategic position for the technology.
