Technology for education in developing countries - A forward
Abstract
Technology plays a very important role in education. In developing countries, conditions, constraints, and resources differ sharply from industrialized nations, creating special challenges for the technical and educational research communities. This first international workshop emerged from the need to further research in technology as it applies to education in developing countries by setting a stage for exchange of original research ideas. This paper sets the background for this workshop by describing its motivation, by presenting topics of interest, by describing the contents of the workshop, and by concluding with future directions. © 2003 IEEE.
