QUALITY IMPROVEMENT AT WORK.
Abstract
The paper describes the success of implementing total quality management principles to improve quality and manufacturing effectiveness in a company which manufactures high volume computer equipment. The achievement of quality in all aspects requires the interlocking and management of a number of different activities - including Quality Councils, posters and management recognition of quality circle achievement - being directed towards a common goal. The paper addresses each of these activities and the associated management system, and concludes by demonstrating the achievements in product performance and cost improvements.
