Power-constrained device and technology design for the end of scaling
Abstract
The article discusses the power-constrained device and technology design for the end of scaling. A new optimization criteria, return on investment (ROI), was introduced and was compared to the more conventional approach. It was reported that although conventional device scaling may soon evolve into this type of application-oriented optimization, there still appears to be much room for progress in the scaling of wiring.
