Polymerization of exo-methylene styrenic monomers. Effect of α,α-cyclization on reactivity and stereoregularity
Abstract
In this paper are reported the effects of α,α-cyclization on the reactivity and stereoregularity in the polymerization of α-substituted styrene derivatives. Cyclic analogs of ACOST discussed in this paper are 4-methylene-4II-1,3-benzodioxin-2-one (MBDOON) and 3-methylenephthalide (MP). We also report the polymerization behavior of α-methyleneindane (MI) in comparison with its acyclic analog, α-methylstyrene.
